Tomorrow’s 38th Annual Christ The King Old Fashioned Barbecue Picnic will take place. The event will be held at Madisonville’s 1600 Kingsway Drive.
This event offers a take-out or sit-down meal as well as entertainment, games and bounce houses for children. The event will be enjoyable for all ages. The Parish Center has a drive-thru, so you can order from there.
“The all you can eat option is fifteen dollars, kids is ten dollars and the bracelets for games is fifteen dollars,”Lesley Mills, Christ The King Principal “For carry-out it will be fifteen dollars per pound for mutton and pork, ten dollars per chicken and sides are eight dollars a quart. Burgo is thirty dollars a gallon and ten dollars a quart. It comes with the sit down meal and all proceeds benefit the school.”
Mills asserts that the year ahead will be very different than in previous years. “normal.”COVID had an impact on how the BBQ was setup, and the BBQ could only be taken out for carryout in the two previous years.
“We are looking forward to trying to get back to normal this year,” Mills said.
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event. Each ticket costs $1 and offers the opportunity to win $100, $200 or $300. To win, you don’t need to be present.
All money raised goes towards school supplies. This allows us to maintain a low tuition and also allows us to pay for field trips or any other costs throughout the year.
