Eclipse Company Store offers patrons a casual dining experience that’s perfect for every thing from a first date to a long-standing date night.

At 11309 Jackson Drive, you will find the Plains Eclipse Company Store. You can get starters such as Mac & Cheese Egg Rolls and Smokehouse Hummus or BBQ Potato Skins starting at $14
The restaurant offers wings in various sizes. They include 6- and 12-piece boxes with either traditional or boneless wings. These wings are available with bleu cheese, ranch dressing or celery and your choice of dipping sauces.
For $7.25-$8.35 each, the 6-piece and 12-piece versions are available. The 12-piece version is $11.50-$15.60.
ECS also sells a variety salads like the Golden Sombrero at $9.95 This includes spring greens topped with black bean & corn salsa, jalapenos, mixed shredded cheeses, and crema & chipotle ranch that’s served in a crispy fried chipotle tortilla bowl.
If you’re in the mood for lunch, the restaurant has a choice of Sammies that are served with ECS’s house kettle chips and a pickle. Three options are available: A Classic Cheese Burger, Garden Burger and Stuffed Grilled Cheese. All of this for under $14
However, this restaurant is more renowned locally for their dinner menu that features a selection of proteins that have all been cured for several hours in ECS’s smokehouse.
BBQ platters include a variety of meats, including chicken, pork, brisket or tofu. The Platter also comes with a pickle spear or corn muffin.
You can purchase these platters for as low as $ 16.65 or $20.82.
You can order large quantities of coleslaw, potato salad, kettle chips, BBQ beans and potato salad.
Then, for dessert, there’s Heaven Sent Cheese Cake for $5.35, or Triple Chocolate Cake for $4.99.
Stricklin also pointed out that Eclipse Company Store has a wide selection of soft drinks and beers.
Stricklin was a graduate of Athens High School, and he attended Ohio University. Stricklin hoped to become a high school historian. When he got a job working as a server, he discovered his true calling.
As a Pizza Hut Manager, he started his professional career. He later helped open the Sonic Drive-In in Nelsonville.
Steak opened almost four decades ago by Stricklin with two of his business associates. ‘n Shake in Athens and later took over Larry’Eclipse Company Store just before he became CEO.
Stricklin stated that “Unlike a lot of restaurants, Eclipse offers catering and has a private room for special events. But, our main draw is our outdoor patio style meet and eat section where we have live music.”
Hocking Valley Coal Company constructed the restaurant on Eclipse Mine #4 in 1902, giving it a rich history. This was just one of the many coal mines this company owned.
Yelp rates ECS with four out of five stars. Reviewer Cliff S. from Alliance posted, “It was nice to ride the bikes on the path and have a little hidden gem along the way. This was a unique experience, with friendly staff. While we were eating, we enjoyed the outside view and the sound of the music. They are simply amazing.
The Eclipse Company Store closes Monday through Thursday. The store is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Sundays open at 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
