Cameron County has a barbecue competition and a bicycle race

CAMERON COUNTY, Pa (WTAJ) – Barbecue competitors and bike riders from across the United States are coming to Cameron County on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Each event is planned, including the gravel grinder race and the BBQ competition. Cameron County Chamber of Commerce has sponsored All Fired Up Kickin Ash BBQ Competition. There is a $50 entry fee. The entry fee is $50. Competitors should prepare to be in a large crowd.

Bikers who are looking to ride Saturday mornings throughout the county will take off. The Sinnemahone Grinder rides trails through Elk State Forest and on the West Creek Recreational Trail. The course length is determined by the registered riders. A 14-mile route is offered by the WCRT.

This is the longest. The race starts at Emporium and the riders then travel through Sinnemahoning State Park, before they return. You can register until Friday noon, the day before the race. Register online at www.bikereg.comOr www.runsignup.com.

Tina Solak was the Chamber’s executive director. She explained how the event appealed to her.

“This competition is not only for a trophy and bragging rights, but so the competitors can make money selling to a crowd of hungry bbq lovers,”Solak spoke.
