FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The North Peace Blue Flames cycling team will be landing in Fort St. John on Wednesday for a fundraiser held at Canadian Tire and are looking for corporate donations to reach their target.
The group pledged $40,000 to Cops for Cancer and have now raised over $24,000 in the time since September 10.
Team members will be present at the September 14th fundraiser barbecue at 4:00 p.m. We would love for everyone to join us and show our support.
This team also includes Sargeant Wahnese Anthonyi and Corporal Cindy Tymensen, as well as Constable Matthew Yu (Constable) and Kayla Tricker.
On September 14, the Tour de North begins in Dawson Creek. They will then travel on bicycles to Williams Lake by September 20.
Sargeant Antonioni stated that the riders were hard at work training for their seven-day bike ride covering more than 800 kms in an effort to raise money and awareness for childhood lung cancer research.
They raise additional funds. Camp Good TimesSupport from the medical staff is available for children who are fighting to save their lives.
