BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Call it what you want. This is the Space Coast’s largest rivalry. It also goes by the name Cocoa Vs. Rockledge. Whatever it’s called, this year, it is once again the biggest football game on the Space Coast, without question.

Coach Ryan Schneider’s Cocoa Tigers and Coach Wayne Younger’s Rockledge Raiders both come into this contest on win streaks. Cocoa won their three previous games while Rockledge won their four last.

Talent is everywhere on both sides of the ball. Both sides can score.

Blake Boda has been the Tigers’ QB. He has amassed p 2,147 yards and 29 touchdowns. Additionally, he has thrown five interceptions. There are three Tigers receiving receivers who have attained minimum 20 catches. Dayday Farmer has been a partner with Boda 30 times this season.

Farmer was a junior 4 star wide receiver who was transferred to Holy Trinity during the off-season. Now, he has more than 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Kyon Calhoun has received 21 passes. Seven of those were touchdowns.

The Tigers are tasked with protecting some of the state’s most difficult programs defensively. The team recorded more than 297 tackles and 21 sacks in seven games.

That being said, stud defensive back Caleb Dobbs, Jordan Holmes, and 4-star  Ohio State commit Cedrick Hawkins lead the secondary and are three players to keep an eye out for in this matchup.

The name of the BBQ Bowl is up to you. It’s also called Cocoa Vs. Rockledge. The BBQ Bowl is the biggest rivalry on Space Coast. Whatever it’s called, this year, it is once again the biggest football game on the Space Coast, without question.

The Rockledge Raiders enter Dick Blake Stadium looking to upset the Tigers, coming up short in last year’s BBQ Bowl. Rockledge’s 2022 campaign is remarkable. The team has lost just one of their games and is a perfect record at 3-0 away.

This team has a very balanced top-to-bottom. On offense, Traven green, the quarterback has shown a tremendous leap with an average QB Rating (105). Raiders boast 2,867 yards total offense.

Jamarion Stevens, a Florida Commit, leads the charge in the field with 758 yard and six running touchdowns in eight games. Florida Commit Bryce Lovett continues to lead by example, creating running lanes for all the Raider’s offensive weapons.

Satellite Scorps transfer Eddie Combs made an impact with his speed. He runs 38.4 miles per game, and has already scored four touchdowns.

The Raiders’ defense is outstanding as Derrick McCormick, a junior linebacker, leads the team with 75 tackles. Rockledge has 534 tackles, and the Raiders have 13.5sacks.

Space Coast football fans have been enjoying the 43rd BBQ Bowl Rockledge – Cocoa Showdown since its inception.

Each team hopes to carry a BBQ Bowl triumph into the playoffs. It’s up to you to decide which one.
