North KC’s Smokin’ Guns BBQ to close after 20 years of business

Owners of Smokin’ Guns BBQ in North Kansas City announced in a Facebook PostThe couple are retiring, and the restaurant will be closed on November 11, 2022. 

After 20 years of business, Smokin’ Guns owners Phil and Linda Hopkins have carved a significant imprint within the greater KC BBQ community. The restaurant was featured in Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”A podcast about Kansas City Barbeque.

In 2003, the original restaurant opened. The city’s favorite spot serves traditional dishes like Big Gun Platter, ribs and BBQ Nachos.

Barbecue lovers won’t be able enjoy this KC favorite for long. Customers who want to celebrate their service to the KC community will find them open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
